  • Educate students and startups about the value of entrepreneurship and the strength and diversity of local companies

Students gain access to new and exciting career opportunities that they may not have considered before. Startups offer students agile and dynamic work environments that enable students to work with a wider variety of technology and take on a greater sense of ownership inside a company. Students also gain exposure to the development and operations of a fast growing business.

S4S has established minimum criteria for companies that would like to participate in the program. These criteria include the amount of company funding, the size of the team, and industry. S4S also provides a network of startups to accommodate the inherent risk and natural success or failure of these types of enterprises. If an internship disappears because the company did, S4S has the network support in place to provide the student an opportunity with another company.

Startups gain access to fresh talent and have the opportunity to foster and promote long-term working relationships with students. Students offer new and possibly unavailable skillsets that can help a startup grow and scale in many ways. Startups also have a channel for giving back to the community and helping to grow the LA startup ecosystem.

The Students for Startups team has reached out to a number of colleges and universities in the Los Angeles region to make it easier for startups to connect with local schools. S4S has also compiled the necessary information for creating a compelling internship program. This information includes the legal knowledge needed to sponsor an intern, upcoming recruiting events, and different levels of sponsorship and participation.
